She was born on September 26, 1916 in Johnsburg, WI. Julia was one of thirteen children and daughter of Anton and Rose (Schmitz) Bertram.
Julia married Ambrose G. Braun on January 21, 1936 in Johnsburg, WI, and later owned a family farm in North Fond du Lac from 1949 until retirement. Ambrose preceded her in death on August 30, 2003.
Julia and Ambrose enjoyed dancing and followed the local polka bands throughout the area with their friends. Julia loved to garden, enjoyed boating and fishing (especially sturgeon spearing), and watching the Brewers and Packers. She created many beautiful hand-made quilts for her children and grandchildren. Julia was an active member of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac.
Julia is survived by five children: David H. (Dorothy) Braun of Malone, Elaine F. (Steven) Rusch of Granite Falls, WA, James C. (Kathryn) Braun of Fond du Lac, Daniel G. (Yvonne) Braun of Lamartine, and Joseph A. (Linda) Braun of Fond du Lac; thirteen grandchildren, and equal number of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Edwin (Lyla) Bertram of St. Peter; her sisters-in-law, Jullita (Henry) Bertram of St. Peter, and Betty (Jerome) Brown of Sherwood.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ambrose, a sister Mary Frances (Joe) Vander Grinten, her brothers, Henry, Ambrose, Orlando, Dennis, Math (Selma), Alex (Loretta), Fred (Marcella), Christ (Alice), Alois (Marie)(Lidvina), Alfonse (Julianne), sisters-in-law, Theresa (Ray) Scharenbroch, Sister Ann Marie, Sister Anthony, and brothers-in-law, Peter (Carrie) Braun, John "Jack" (Gladys) Brown, Alfred (Marie) Brown, Jerome Brown, and Anthony Braun.

Funeral Information
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9-11 A.M. at Presentation Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac, WI followed by a funeral mass.
Entombment will take place at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the care provided to Julia and for the support offered by Agnesian Hospice, and to Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
