John Franklin Strickler, 80, of Greenville died at 10 a.m. Friday (Feb. 22, 1985) at his residence. He was born in Augusta County on Nov. 21, 1904, a son of James Franklin and Sally (Walker) Strickler. He was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Blanche Hazel Strickler of Greenville'; one son, John F. Strickler V of Greenville; four brothers, Floyd and Boyd, both of Greenville, Walter of Ladd and Albert Strickler of Attica, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Genevieve Kesterson of Greenville; a number of nieces and newhews. A service will be conducted 3 p.m. today in the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Revs. Homer LeMaster and Harley Bender. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Berl Steele, Marvin Moomau, Dr. H. Lynn Moore Jr., Lawrence Supple, Dr. Preston C. Manning, Eugene Richardson, James Williams Sr. and Bill Whistleman.
