J. Frank Strickler died at 2:15 am., Tuesday at his home at Greenville, after an illness of two weeks from typhoid fever. He was a native of Rockbridge County; a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Strickler Sr., of Mint Spring. Besides his parents he leaves seven sons, Leonard, Daniel, Walker, of Akron, O; John, Albert, Boyd, and Walter, of Greenville; his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Sallie Swisher, of the New Providence section. Mr. Strickler was 52 years of age and was a prominent farmer of the Greenville section. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian church. Funeral services will be held from New Providence church to which community he was reared Thursday at 11 a.m. conducted by Mr. Strickler's pastor, the Rev. H.S. Turner, D.D. assisted by the Rev. Dr. H.W. McLaughlin. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Bearers will be: active, S.F. Williams, Jas. H. Fall, Carl Thompson, Chas. D. McClure, Henry Apple and H.B. McGuffin; honorary, Dr. J.H. Thomas, Harry Koogler, H.H. Agner, J.R. Clark, W.F. Dice, S.A.D. McKee.
