"James Albert Strickler, 86, 933 South Perry St., Attica, died at Community Hospital, Williamsport, at 3:10 p.m. Sept. 22, 1993, having been ill for five weeks. He was born near Greenville, Va., Feb. 4, 1907, the son of Frank and Sally Strickler. He was married Feb. 20, 1929, at Pine Village, to Georgia Landon. She survives.

He formerly lived at Scherville and had been a resident of Attica since 1975. He was a former pipe welder at Kaiser Ship Yards at Portland, Oregon, and also worked at East Chicago Refinery Welding. He was a member of the Rainsville Methodist Church, Garfield Lodge #569 of the Masonic Lodge of Hammond, and the Scottish Rite of South Bend.

Surviving, besides the wife, are: a brother, Walter Strickler, Waynesboro, Va.; and Genevieve Kisterson, Greenville, Va. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. today (Friday) with the Rev. Matt Hodgen officiating. Burial will be at Rainsville Cemetery, Warren County." – Fountain County Neighbor, September 24, 1993
