"Thomas and Mable eloped to Ogden where they wed in June 1908. Governor, John C. Cutler, was extremely upset. The married couple only spent 2 days together before Mable was taken back by the governor. I have a news clipping that they divorced in 1910, the marriage was not "annulled". This appeared in the papers quite a bit at the time and the governor lost his bid for re-nomination by his party, later in 1908, serving just 1 term.
