Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until October 25, 1945, 1 year and 1 day after he went missing as was the custom.

Son of Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Granger.

Albert served as a Aviation Machinist's Mate First Class & Gunner on a Grumman TBF Avenger, Torpedo Squadron Twenty-Nine (VT-29), U.S.S. Cabot (CVL-28), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Newport, Sullivan County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Albert was declared "Missing In Action" when his plane, while in a torpedo attack on the Japanese Fleet in Tablas Straight, Philippines, was shot down and is believed to have crashed at sea. Their remains were not recovered.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
