John Granger died at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH on August 3, 1996. He was born in Saint Sebastien, Quebec, Canada on April 10, 1908; the son of of Oliva and Yvonne (Bilodeau) Granger.

He attended schools in Canada and Highgate.

He had been a Newport resident for 63 years coming from Highgate, VT.

He was employed by Joy Mfg in Claremont for over 20 years and Sunapee Shoe Company in Newport for five years.

He married Anita Goyette on June 3, 1933 in Newport, NH.

He was preceded in death by son Patrick Granger, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; son John of Longmont, CO; two brothers Paul of Oregon and Leonard of Kenneth City, FL; five sisters Mary Jane Couture of Newport, NH, Gabrielle Trepanier of Claremont, Hazel Petrin of Newport, Delores Halvorsen of Westford, MA; and Rita Gee of Philomath, OR; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial is in St Patrick's Cemetery.
