She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs James Petty Apperson, pioneer settlers of Ellis and Dallas counties. She was born in Waxahachie and moved to Wilmer when she was a girl.

She married Eli Bradley Robbins there on December 23, 1884, The couple lived in Ferris, Ellis County, before moving to Dallas, Texas. Their children are Willard B , Eli B Jr (Dick) ,Daniel Petty, Edgar R , Thomas C and Mary. She and Eli had eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She is said to have been a very pretty girl and a favorite with her father. She had her own horse and rose side saddle, accompanying him often when he rode horseback about the farm or countryside. She completed public school and attended Marvin College in Waxahachie. This college has been non-existent for many years.
She was active in the Methodist Church and often taught a Sunday School class wherever she lived.
