Beulah R. Kerr Burns Bain, 83, of Clarion, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo.

Born Aug. 28, 1925, in New Bethlehem, she was the daughter of William K. and Mary C. Crissman Kerr.

She was first married Jan. 23, 1945, to Edwin Burns, and he preceded her in death in August 1973. She was later married Aug. 15, 1978, to Howard Bain, who preceded her in death August 2004. Mrs. Bain was a homemaker.

She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and gardening.

In addition to her second husband, she is survived by a son, Ray L. Burns and his wife, Mary, of Harvest, Ala.; a daughter, Becky J. Colgan and her husband, David, of Leeper; and grandchildren Nicole, John and Shannon Burns of San Antonio, Texas, Shawn Wolfe of Lancaster, Casey and Elizabeth Wolfe of Madison, Ala., Kelly Conlon of Chicago, Ill., Ted and Kandy Ortz of Summerville, Scott and Lori Ortz of Bela, Leza and Dennis Sheakley of St. Petersburg, Beth and Gary Shumaker of Clarion, and David Ortz of Arvada, Colo.

She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Deborah Hamilton and her husband, Dean, of Middleton, Md.; a stepson, Ron Bain of Edmonton, Ky.; a step-daughter-in-law, Donna Bain of Middleton, Md.; five step-grandchildren, Eli Bain of Edmonton, Ky.; Glenda Quindardo and her husband, Joe, of Orlando, Fla.; David Bain and his wife, Andrea, of Middleton, Md.; Jarrod Bain and his wife, Gretchen, of Merchantville, N.J., and Rebekah Mulligan and her husband, James, of Saegertown, and Benjamin Baker; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Quinton Kerr of Ohio; and a sister, June Thomas of Brookville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Olive Barrett, Ella Varner, Laura Cyphert, Mary Downes, Evelyn Ernest and Phoebee Hannold; one brother, Verner Kerr; and a grandson, Ray L. Burns Jr.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion. Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Bishop Ralph Campbell III of the Church of God in Clarion officiating.

Interment will be in Clarion Cemetery.
