James Christy Sr. who, had been failing in health for many weeks, and confined to his bed for some time, died Sunday night and was buried Tuesday in the Catholic cemetery. His death seems to have resulted more from old age than disease, being in his 73rd year. He was all his life a member of the Catholic church and one of the most liberal supporters of the congregation at Coon Rapids.

The funeral services were conducted In the Catholic church, the procession to the cemetery being a very long one, testifying, to the esteem in which the deceased was held by his neighbors. He came to Carroll county in 1893 from Fowler, Ind., being 72 years of age at his death. By industry and good management, he acquired a half section of land, which constitutes the home place and with his wife had the satisfaction of seeing their family of ten children grow up into excellent citizens.
They are John, James, Byron, George and William, and Misses Anna, Laura and Clara, (the latter dying about two years ago) and Mrs. Jas. McKeon and Mrs. Joseph Zenner. The aged wife and mother has the sympathy of all in the greatest sorrow of her life.
