Laura was the daughter of James Christy and Anna Finnegan. She married Fred Winthouser (son of Joseph Winthouser and Margaret Zenner) on Oct 12, 1921 at Coon Rapids, Iowa.

Oct 26, 1935 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Fred Winthouser is convalescing in the hospital at Rochester, Minn., from a major operation which she submitted to several weeks ago. Mr. Winthouser is staying with his wife.

Nov 5, 1935 - Carroll Daily Herald - Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Winthouser, who passed away early Monday morning at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn., will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Joseph church. Very Rev. P.T. Lynch will read the requiem mass. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery. The body was taken to the Winthouser home this afternoon from the Gregory Funeral home.

Mrs. Winthouser, who was 55 year old at the time of her death, was born on March 11, 1880 at Dunnington, Ind. Her maiden name was Laura Christy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Christy.

While she was still very young the family moved to Coon Rapids. She received her early education there and on October 12, 1921 was united in marriage to Fred Winthouser.

She had been a resident of Carroll county for the past 43 years and she and her husband had resided in Carroll for the past 14 years.

She is survived by her husband, sister, Miss Anna Christy of Carroll, and, a brother, James Christy of Wisconsin.

Three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
