Mrs. James Christy died last Monday, the funeral occurring from the Catholic church Wednesday. She was the mother of the Christy boys—John, James and George and of Mrs. James McKeon, Mrs. Joseph Zenner and Misses Anna and Laura, four children having preceded her.She came with her husband to Iowa many years ago, her husband dying in 1901. Mrs. Christy was known as a good Christian woman and a devoted wife and mother. She was born in Iceland and died in her 82 year. The bereaved children and relatives have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. Another old settler has gone to her reward.

Coon Rapids, IA.
Mrs. Anna Christy, a long time resident of the Coon Rapids parish, died at the family home on the afternoon of September 20th, after a few hours illness, death being due to heart failure. Mrs. Christy came to Carroll county from Indiana with her husband and family in the early 90s and settled on the farm where she has since lived. The husband and father, Jas. Christy, died November 10, 1901. The surviving children are Mrs. Jos. Zenner, Mrs. Jas. McKeon, Misses Anna and Laura, John and George of Coon Rapids and James of Red Lake Falls, Minn. The deceased also leaves a brother Brian Finnegan of Fowler, Ind., who with his wife were present at the funeral. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning. Rev. G. F. Wessling celebrating the Requiem Mass and the remains were laid to rest beside the husband, sons and daughter, who died some years ago. Although 82 years of age, Mrs. Christy had been remarkably active and until the day of her death retained a lively interest in her home, church and community. She was a fervent Catholic, a devoted mother, and a helpful friend and in her family circle, church and neighborhood she will be greatly missed. May her soul rest in peace.
