Earl Cordell Johns, 70, returned to his Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was born June 2, 1939 in Smoot and graduated from Star Valley High School in Afton. He married Lila K. Gomm on Aug. 21, 1959 and had two children. They were later divorced. He later married Betty J. Moulton and divorced. Our father was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Earl was a carpenter and had great love to build and work with his hands. He retired from Amoco Oil in Evanston, where he had many friends. Upon retirement, he spent his time managing and running his own apartments. Surviving are his son, Rodney Cordell (Christine) Johns, Clearfield; daughter, Tresa (Scott) Welty, Layton; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Roland Johns, Cokeville; Dale Johns, Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters, Genevieve, Mesa, Ariz.; and Thea, Roy, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers UDell, Jack, Ivan and sisters, Gayle and Beulah. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 24, 2010. Interment took place in the Afton Cemetery.
