MANTI--Earl Jacob Tuttle, 76, of Manti, died June 1, 1997 at his home.

Born May 6, 1921 in Manti, to Lloyd W. and Vera Keller Tuttle. Married Ellis Amundsen, Dec. 22, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Earl worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Services for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Graduated from Manti High School, Snow College, and Utah State University, with a degree in Agronomy. Active in the LDS Church, past member of the 3rd LDS ward bishopric and former stage manager of the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant. Loved cooking and camping with his family and friends.

Survivors: wife; one daughter and five sons, Mrs. Joseph (Erlynne) Nielsen, Ephraim; Terry (Dina), Salt Lake; Roger (Elayne), Kaysville; Brant (Lorraine), Payson; Bob (Janiece), Richfield; Paul (Laury), West Jordan; 27 grandchildren; one brother, Wayne K. Tuttle, Orem; two sisters, Mrs. Austin (Norma) Erickson, Bountiful; Mrs. Paul (Delma) Dyreng, Gunnison; three stepsisters, Mrs. Archie (Carolyn) Brugger, Manti; Mrs. Richard (Alice) Wright, Calif.; Mrs. Norma Allen, Texas. Preceded in death by a son, Ned, mother and father, two sisters and one brother, Gwen, Janet, McLloyd, stepmother, Sarah.

Funeral services Thursday, June 5, 1997 at 12 noon in the Manti LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Weds 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 10:30-11:45 prior to services. Interment, Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Buchanan Mortuary.
