Funeral Held For Vera K. Tuttle

Mrs. Vera Dorthea Keller Tuttle, 60 died at a Gunnison hospital last Saturday at 3 a.m., of a hear ailment. She had become seriously ill only a couple days prior to her death.

Mrs. Tuttle was born in Manti, July 5, 1892, a daughter of Jacob and Dorthea Westenskow Keller. She spent most her life in Manti.

She was very active in church work, serving in all of the auxiliary organizations, including Primary, Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society. She has been a member of the Manti Choir for 40 years, and she was Sunday School chorister in Glenwood, Colorado at the time of her death.

She was married to Lloyd W. Tuttle in Manti, April 26, 1917, the marriage later being solemnized in the Manti Temple. For the past few years they have been spending part of each year at their ranch in Colorado. They were the parents of seven children, six of them living.

Survivors include her husband and six sons and daughters, Mrs. Austin (Norma) Erickson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. LaMar (Gwen) Monroe, Scipio; Mrs. Paul (Delma) Dyreng, Manti; Earl, Wayne and McLoyd, New Castle, Colorado; six brothers and one sister, Jesse, Calvin, Frank and Curtis Keller, all of Manti; LaMont Keller, Sacramento, California; Lynn Keller, Tule Lake, California; and Dorothy Keller, Manti; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral Held - Funeral services were conducted in the Manti North Ward on Tuesday, with Bishop Calvin Keller conduction.

The prayer in the home was by Austin Erickson, with prayers at the funeral by Lester B. Whetten and Lee Hall.

Preliminary music was played on the organ by Mrs. Adele O. Lambert of Salt Lake City. Musical numbers included "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" and "Crossing The Bar" by the Manti choir, directed by Ellis Johnson and accompanied by Maude Reid; a vocal duet, "In The Garden", by Ellis and Clara Johnson; a vocal solo, "Beyond the Sunset" by Karl Keller, with Lucile Tuttle, reading, and Ruth Anderson at the organ; a vocal duet, "Oh My Father" by Ty and Karen Keller, nieces, accompanied by Mrs. Lynn Keller.

Speakers included Andrew Judd, David Olsen Jr., Lawrence Harmon and Elmer Baer, with closing remarks by Bishop Keller.

Resolutions of Respect have been presented the family by the Manti High School Alumni Association and the Manti Ladies Literary Club.

Pallbearers were Ray Keller, Halbert Keller, Kendall Keller and Donald Olsen, all of Manti, and Keller and Cloyd Christensen of Gunnison.

The grave in the Manti Cemetery was dedicated by a son-in-law, Paul Dyreng.

The services were very well attended, with many friends and relatives coming from Colorado and from throughout Utah.
