Mrs. Lillie Russell, 94, Route 5, Box 212, Huntsville, died December 24, 1984, at her home. She was born January 1, 1890 at Venus, Arkansas, the daughter of John and Margaret Self Carter. She was a member of the Free Holiness Church and was the widow of John Riley Russell, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1969.
Survivors include five sons, Paul Russell and Steve Russell, both of Payette, Idaho, Aaron Russell and John Russell, both of Huntsville and James Russell of Santa Maria, California; five daughters, Miss Mary Russell of Bakersfield, California, Mrs. Daisy Swearengin and Mrs. Nancy Reynolds, both of Huntsville, Mrs. Lillie Mae Philo of Los Angeles, California, and Miss Elizabeth Russell of Narogonsett, Rhode Island; forty one grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, December 27, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Foster officiating. Interment was in the Venus Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Paul Russell, John David Russell, Sampson Russell, John Swearengin, James Berry Reynolds, and Jessie C. Reynolds.
