William Thomas (Tom) Carter, 81, died at the Medical Center in Little Rock Monday. A resident of Route 5, Huntsville he was born in this county June 22, 1883, the son of John H. Carter and Margaret Self Carter, and was a farmer. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for sixty years.

Survivors include his wife, Allie, of the home; four sons, Buerel Carter of Ontario, Calif.; Raymond of Bonaparte, Iowa, Russell of Fayetteville and W. T. Carter of Route 5, Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Alpha Watkins of Fayetteville; one brother, N. B. Carter of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Zona Goucher and Mrs. Lillie Russell of Huntsville; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Venus Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock with James Howard, Church of Christ minister, conducting. Burial will be in the Venus cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Vester Bowman, Cody Bowman, Aaron Russell, John Russell, Dewell Walker and Ellis Keck.
