LEBANON ENTERPRISE OBITUARY - 07/22/1976
Charles Thomas Mattingly, 79, died at his residence on Wednesday, July 14, 1976, at 12:15 a.m. He was a local barber for 35 years. Mr. Mattingly, who made his home at 217 College Street, was the son of the late Thomas E. and Dorothy Mattingly Mattingly. Two sons, Joseph Hughes and Harold Louis preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Hughes Mattingly; three daughters, Mrs. George Edelen of Lexington, Mrs. Tom Englert of Smyrna, Tennessee, Mrs. Charles Boone of Springfield; four sons, James Thomas and William Robert, both of Louisville, Charles Donald of Frankfort, and Joseph Malcolm of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Leake and Mrs. R.H. Borders, both of Lebanon, Sister Thomasine Mattingly of Maple Mount; and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Church with burial in the church cemetery. The funeral Mass was concelebrated by Father Raymond Hughes, brother-in-law, and Father Kenneth Tobe. Massey Funeral Home, where a prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Thursday was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Michael Mattingly, John Vincent Mattingly, Gary Allen Edelen, Eric Englert, Greg Englert, Michael Boone, John Anthony Boone and Donnie Mattingly, all grandsons.
