COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 08/08/1997

William Robert Mattingly, 69, died Thursday [August 7, 1997] at Hospice of Louisville's inpatient unit at Alliant Medical Pavilion. He was a native of Lebanon and a barber at Gary's Barber Shop in Valley Station. Survivors: his wife, the former Kate Mudd; sons, Michael C. & John V. Mattingly; a daughter, Julia E. Logsdon; a brother, Donald Mattingly; sisters, Dorothy Edelen, Marita Englert and Martha A. Boone; and eight grandchildren. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. Third St. Burial: St. Augustine Cemetery, Lebanon. Visitation: Joseph E. Ratterman & Son South End, 7330 Southside Dr., 2-9 p.m. Friday. Memorial gifts: Hospice of Louisville or Masses.
