-WILSON, WILLIS - age 87 of Andersonville, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church.
He retired from Eaton's Manufacturing in Harrodsburg, Kentucky as a Warehouse Manager, making accessories for automobiles. Preceded in death by first wife, Lacie Strong Wilson; step children, James Sams & Edith Hedgecoth; brothers, Henley & Carson Wilson; sisters, Dorothy Wilson & Nellie Elliott; half sisters, Bertha Hawkins, Vergie Ford, Bessie Maples, Carlee Patterson & Emily Mayes; half brother, Lawton Purkey. Willis was born October 1, 1914 in Hancock County.
Survivors: wife, Luvernia Hill Wilson of Andersonville;step- daughter, Bobbie Jean Chase of Lake City; special step-grandson, John Chase & wife, Thelma of LaFollette; brother, John L. Wilson of Ten Mile; brother in law, Chester Hill of Nashville; 19 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; special niece, Paulette Wilson Ooten of Ten Mile.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following the visitation at 8 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Thursday October 03, 2002 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
