JAMES P. GILBERT

James Pinkney "Pink" Gilbert, 84, of 1309 Shoally Creek Road died Aug 2, 1995, in a Columbia Hospital.
A native of Polk County, he was the widower of Geogie Ann Shultz Gilbert and the son of the late Squire Parker and Lela Ann Turner Gilbert. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Una. He was retired from Valley Falls Mill and was a resident of Mountainview Nursing Home.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Westbrooks of Chesnee, Inez Hinson of Chadbourne N.C., Georgialene Gowan of Inman and Norma Jean Cantrell of Cowpens, one son, James Frederick Gilbert of Spartanburg, four sisters, Velda Blanton, Bessie Blackwell, and Grace Ledbetter, all of Inman, and Nellie Banks of Spartanburg, one brother Clarence Gilbert of Inman, 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two stepgreat grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at The Bobo Funeral Chapel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday the the funeral chapel, conducted by the Revs Weldon Burnett and Ron Gilbert. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate Chapter, 114 E. Earls St,, Anderson, S.C. 29621.
The family is at the home of his granddaughter, Judy Mills, 115 Wilson Road, Chesnee.
