BOILING SPRINGS, SC-- Nellie Jane Gilbert Banks, 83, of Boiling Springs died December 17, 2005 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Polk County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Squire Parker and Lela Sally Turner Gilbert and wife of the late Claude Melvin Banks.
She was a life long member of Grace Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and retired from Inman Mills-Saybrook Plant. She was a caregiver of the elderly for many years.
She was the loving mother of a son, Donald Banks; two daughters, Jane Sanford and husband Jim, and Jean Turner all of Boiling Springs. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence Gilbert of Inman, three sisters Bessie Blackwell and Grace Ledbetter both of Inman, and Velda Blanton of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Shaun and Kyle Sanford and Justin and Miranda Turner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Grace Baptist, conducted by Rev Stephen Wise and Rev J.B. Godfrey. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial may be made to the Building Fund of Grace Baptist Church or to Grace Christian School, PO Box 220, Landrum SC 29356.
