Gerrit Y Mulder died early Monday morning at his home in Orange City, after an illness of many months. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Mulder was born at St. Anna Parochie, the Netherlands April 12th, 1865. He came to the United States with his parents in 1881, the family settling on a farm near Carnes.
Mr. Mulder was married June 8, 1887 to Miss Gertrude Hoekstra, who survives him with nine children, namely:
Ed of Hawarden; Agnes, Rena (Mrs. Teunis Maasen), Will, John, Gerrit, and Gertrude, all of Orange City; Cornie of Hospers; Martha (Mrs. John Vermeer) of Boyden.
Four brothers and one sister are also living:
E. Mulder of Orange City, G. Mulder of Carnes, W. Mulder of Yuma, Colo., Age Mulder of Sheldon, and Mrs. John Klompenburg of Orange City.
Mr. and Mrs. Mulder farmed west of Sioux Center after their marriage, later moving to a farm southwest of Orange City. Ten years ago they moved to Orange City, where their two daughters have cared for them, Mrs. Mulder having been an invalid for some years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Ref. Church, Orange City.
