Tryntje Hoekstra was Yge's second wife. His first wife was Jantje (Grace) van Keimpema, b. 1861. He and Grace had one son, Charles Mulder, 1887-1974. Charles was born Jelle Riemer Mulder (Mulder = Miller) in May 1887 in the city of Doetinchem, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. The record for Charles shows that he was the son of Ijge Mulder and Jantje van Keimpema. (Thank you to Peter Hakze in Almere, the Netherlands, for birth information about Charles.)

Yge had an adopted daughter, Winnie de Vries, b. about 1880, death date unknown. She was variously described as retarded or insane and was declared insane in about 1932, after Yge's death.

PIONEER SCHOOL MASTER PASSES

Y. Mulder Associated in Christian School Work for Forty Years

Y. Mulder died November 22 at his home in Orange City as the result of long standing heart and stomach disorders, at the age of 71 years and 7 months of age.

He was born in the province of Friesland, The Netherlands, but in 1889 came to the United States with his wife and child. He taught in the Christian schools of Orange City, Chicago, and Kalamazoo, being engaged in Christian school work for more than 40 years. For 15 years he was treasurer of the classis, Orange City, was vice-president of the Men's society, Second Christian Ref. church, secretary of the Pioneer Home association, and agent for many Holland papers. His report of the classis for October and November appeared in the Banner on November 20.

His first wife preceded him to the Beyond and he later married Mrs. J. Vander Schaaf who survives him. He is survived by his son Charles and by his second wife's adopted daughter, Winnie; also by the following brothers and sisters: Gerke of Carnes, William of Yuma, Colorado, Age of Sheldon, and Mrs. J. Van Klompenburg (Dirkje) of Orange City.

In all that he undertook Mr. Mulder was a real worker, never shirking a task allotted him. The funeral services held November 25 at 2 o'clock at the First Christian Ref. church were attended by a host of friends, former pupils, and co-workers in the church. They were presided over by Rev. G.W. Hylkema and Dr. R. Brenkema. The services were attended by lifelong friends all over the county.
