FARMER CITY - Carl A. Lamb, 94, formerly of Yuma, Ariz., died 7:15 a.m. Friday (Aug. 8. 2008) at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Farmer City.

Cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned. A private inurnment will be at a future date in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial gifts may be made to the Farmer City American Legion, Joe Williams Post 55, Farmer City; Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care Center; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Carl was born March 3, 1914, in Weldon, to Jerry Myrse Lamb (1888-1965) and Bessie (Turpin) Lamb (1893-1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Audrey (Philip) West, Farmer City, and Nanci Carlene (Mike) Bowling, Yuma, Ariz.; one son, Steven (Jo Beth) Lamb, Geneva, Ala.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Normalee (Reck) (1925-2007) on Oct. 4, 2007; his parents; four brothers; and five sisters.

He worked as an electrician and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
