Mildred Lucille Burris, 85, of Farmer City, passed away at 10:30 pm Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Jackson Heights Nursing Home in Farmer City. Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, January 30, 2004 at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City. Burial will be at Grandview memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will take place from noon until 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jackson Heights Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Burris was born April 2, 1918 in DeWitt County to Jerry Myrse Lamb (1888-1965)and Bessie Jane (Turpin) Lamb (1893-1980). She married Leslie Clay Burris (1916-2001)on February 14, 1938 in Washington IA. He passed away October 24, 2001.

She is survived by one son, John Leslie Burris (1953-2008) of Farmer City; two grandsons: Brian (Dawn) of DeWitt and Michael (Anissa) of Bellflower; three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Cassidy and Cheyenne; four brothers: Carl (Normalee) Lamb of Yuma AZ; Cecil (Irene) Lamb of Clinton; Odell (Pat) Lamb of Farmer City; and Wilbert Lamb of Bloomington; and three sisters: Edith Zimmerman, Farmer City; Erma Bell of Clinton and Opal Foulks of Farmer City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Burris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a member of the VFW Post 6190 Auxiliary in Farmer City.
