Mr. Lamb was born October 27, 1919 at Farmer City at Farmer City, s/o Jerry Myrse Lamb. (1888-1965)and Bessie Jane (Turpin) Lamb. (1893-1980). He married Opal Bernice Kemplin (1924- )on October 21, 1940 in St Louis. She survives. Also surviving are three sons: Jim of Mansfield; Larry of Newbury Park CA; and Bob of Urbana; two daughters: Donna Wieck of Charleston; and Cindy Johnson of Champaign; nine grandchildren; and four brothers: Carl of Yuma AZ; Cecil and Odell both of Farmer City; and Wilbert of Carlock; five sisters: Mary Spencer and Erma Bell, both of Clinton; Edith Zimmerman and Opal Foulks, both of Farmer City; and Lucille Burris of LeRoy. Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother and two sisters.
He was a plant manager and associate with Lew West at Farmer City Grain and Pacific Grain for 35 years. He retired in 1984. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving with the engineer corps in Europe.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of Joe Williams Post 55 of the American Legion and Fred O'Malley Post 6190 of the VFW, both of Farmer City.
