Eileen Nancy (Livermont) Hampton, a longtime East Wenatchee resident, passed away on May 7, 2008, at Highline Care Center in East Wenatchee. She was born on January 20, 1921, to Martha (Rooks) and Edwin Livermont, the eighth of ten children, on a farm near Martin, SD. She attended schools in Pine Ridge and Martin and graduated from Brown's Beauty School in Rapid City, SD. She married Oden Eugene Hampton on January 24, 1942, in Ava, MO. She worked at Aileen's Beauty Shop in Ava. They moved to Wenatchee in 1945. Eileen worked as a cook at Eastmont High School and sorted apples at the Mann-Farrington and Northern Fruit warehouses. They were members of a Good Sam's Club and enjoyed their traveling around the state. Eileen was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Wenatchee. She enjoyed going to yard sales and was well known for her fried chicken and potato salad. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Oden in 1988; her parents; and eight siblings. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Laine (Paul) Francis of East Wenatchee; sons, Gene (Patricia) Hampton of Concord, CA, David (Elizabeth) Hampton of Wenatchee, WA and Larry (Velma) Hampton of East Wenatchee, WA. Also surviving are her brother, John (Phyllis) Livermont of Birch Bay, WA; and five granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, with a gathering of loved ones following at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 428 King Street, Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
