Isabelle was the fourth of eleven children born to Martha (Rooks) and Joseph "Ed" Livermont. She grew up on the family in southeastern Bennett County, South Dakota.
She and Maurice Babby were married and worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs while also raising their family of four sons and one daughter; William Babby, Wilson Babby, Reva (Babby) Davis, Gordon Babby, and Glen Babby.
She passed away at the Pierre Hospital in Pierre, SD at the age of 36.
