LEBANON ENTERPRISE OBITUARY - 03/03/2008

Ann M. Wheatley, 89, Bardstown Road, Springfield, died at 4:20 a.m. Feb. 19, 2008, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born Aug. 2, 1918, in Marion County, Wheatley worked in a war production factory in St. Louis, Mo. during World War II and as a clerk at A & P Grocery. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Richard H. Wheatley; her second husband, William A. Edelen; and her parents, J. Arthur and Georgiana Mattingly.

Survivors include: a daughter, Pat Griffins of Louisville; a sister, Laura Jean Nalley of St. Francis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 21 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Stephen Dominic Hayes, O.P., and Rev. James Murray, O.P., officiated.
Pallbearers were Joe, Buddy, Johnny and Mark Wheatley, Donnie Richards and Frank Mattingly.

Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of the arrangements.
