Mrs. Elsie Osborn, 64, died at 7:40 this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Prahl of near Etna, after a long illness.

The body was taken to the Schilling funeral home here. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Osborn had been at the home of her daughter since Feb. 23 when she was released from Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. She originally entered Mattoon Memorial Hospital on Dec. 19, 1955, but was removed to St. Louis on Jan. 27.

Born on Jan. 23, 1892, in Clay County, Mrs. Osborn was the daughter of William and Anna Wiegel Roberts who preceded her in death.

A member of the Eastside Baptist Church here, and a resident of Coles County for the past 25 years, Mrs. Osborn was married to her husband, Alonzo, 74, on Aug. 31, 1907. He survives.

Other survivors are 11 children, Mrs. Nellie Prahl of Etna; Cecil, Richard, Mrs. Ruth Newlin, Harold, Jesse, Mrs. Eveline Towle, Dale and Harry E., all of Mattoon; William, of Strasburg, and Mrs. Thelma Blankenship of California.

She also leaves six sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Grace Thomason of Iowa; Mrs. Bertha Specht of Vandalia, Mrs. Mildred Richeson of Effingham; Mrs. Dorothy Willison of Peoria; and Mrs. Ruth Mann, Mrs. Lulu Connerly, Verlie and Vern Roberts, all of Louisville. Mrs. Osborn is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
