BEECHER CITY -- William Oliver Osborn, 86, of Beecher City died at 11:55 p.m. Friday (May 17, 1996) at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

He was born March 5, 1910, in Clay County, the son of Alonzo and Elsie Roberts Osborn. He married Norma Houchin in 1932, and she survives.

Other survivors include one son, William C. Osborn of Neoga; three daughters, Virginia Kemmerer of St. Charles, Mildred Miller of Lakeland and Barbara Smith of Tower Hill; five brothers, Richard, Dale, Jesse, Harry and Harold Osborn, all of Mattoon; three sisters, Nellie Prahl of Mattoon, Eveline Waymoth of Mattoon and Thelma Blankenship of Modesto, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sons and two sisters.

He was a retired farmer and a furniture dealer.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
