Memorial Services Are Held Sunday For Bertha Bliss

Memorial services were held for Bertha E. Bliss, daughter of John F. and Dora Bobrer Bliss, Sunday afternoon. She passed away May 9 in the hospital in San Leandro, Calif., where she had been a patient more than five years. It was her wish to be cremated and her ashes brought to her home town to be buried in her mother's grave.
Miss Bliss lived a life of service for others, being a registered nurse. She assisted her father in his pharmacy for four years before going to Michigan where she was employed in Helena hospital in Battle Creek for more than thirty years. In later years she was a nurse in charge of an Old Ladies' home in San Leandro, Calif. She was often asked to play and sing to them lovely old songs of home and Heaven which never lose their charm for the aged.
Those of her family that preceded her in death were her mother, her brothers, Fred C. and Robin A. Bliss. Those surviving are her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bliss of Princeville; her brother, Lewis Bliss of Pontiac; and her half brothers Palmer of Peoria, Marvin of Princeville, Earl of Brimfield; and a half sister, Eloise Braves; two nieces, Mrs. Zella Hargadine and Mrs. Mildred Belski; two nephews Theodore Bliss of Chillicothe and John F. Bliss of Sparland and many cousins, including the DeBords, Hoags, Burgesses, Blisses, as well as many friends
