Bio
"Well, Doc, this may have all started when I accompanied my dad on trips to visit the graves of U.S. Presidents..."
I'm always searching for graves of near and distant relatives and ancestors. Related surnames include Pierce, Harrison, Evans, Lawrence, Rogers, Kent, Cline, Shaw, Alden, Gronewold, Grafelman, and others.
I've taken more than 18,000 gravestone photos in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Virginia. My record is about 10/minute and I've become very good at avoiding my shoes and reflection. I've concentrated on several Peoria, IL area cemeteries where I have many family connections and have photographed nearly all the gravestones: 1) Mount Hawley, 2) Prospect, 3) Princeville, 4) St Mary of the Woods; 5) LaSalle, 6) St Joseph - Mooney, 7) West Hallock, 8) Chillicothe, 9) Dickison, 10) Kickapoo Baptist, 11) Christ Episcopal, 12) Jubilee Churchyard, 13) Brimfield, 14) Brimfield Calvary, & 15) Wyoming. You can find my gravestone photos for these cemeteries (and others) at www.peoriacountyillinois.info.
I also have a fairly large stash of obituaries and wedding announcements as far back as the 1890s from the area north of Peoria, especially Princeville and Dunlap; so if there are any names from there that you're researching, just give me a holler and I'll see if I can help.
I'll respond quickly to all queries, comments, and/or corrections and typo alerts on memorials I've posted and will be happy to upload gravestone photos and/or send you a higher-resolution version upon request.
A proud member of One Foot In The Grave.
