ANOTHER MEMBER OF LOGAN FAMILY DIES
HORACE LOGAN, 67, OF LOHRVILLE, IA., TAKEN MONDAY - FUNERAL HELD THERE YESTERDAY - WAS BORN HERE IN 1872
The Logan Family, pioneers of the Traer community, was again visited by death this week. Horace Logan, 67, of Lohrville, Ia., passed away Monday morning at his home. He had been failing in health for several months. A severe illness of influenza, accompanied by a slight stroke, hastened his death. He was the fifth death in the Logan family within the past fifteen months. Charles Logan, Abe Logan, James Logan and Mrs. James Logan have all died in slightly more than a year's time. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Logan home in Lohrville. Several of the decedent's relatives in the Traer community planned to attend the services. Horace Logan was born here on Jan. 20, 1872, a son of James and Janet Logan, and grew to manhood in this community. He moved to the Lohrville community in 1899 and was engaged in farming there for thirty-eight years. He returned to town just two years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife, about five years ago. Surviving are two sons and five daughters and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Garfield Powell, Mrs. Ed Stoakes, of Traer; Mrs. Katherine Reed, of Rockwell City, Ia.; Frank Logan of Estherville, Ia.; Mrs. John Everts of Centerview, Mo.; and Robert Logan, of the Traer community.
