FRANK LOGAN DIES HERE; RITES SET

A retired Estherville railroad man, Frank Logan, died at Holy Family Hospital here last night at the age of 85. The death, occurring at 11:35 p.m. was attributed to complications of old age. Mr. Logan had been in failing health for the past several years and had been hospitalized since last May 25. For 39 years a brakeman and conductor with the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, he had been retired since 1942. He was a member of the Methodist Church here. Born April 17, 1876 in Traer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Logan, he attended Traer schools. He was married to Helen Sherer at Des Moines, July 10, 1918, and the couple moved to the county the same year. Mrs. Logan is the sole survivor. His parents, seven brothers and six sisters preceded Mr. Logan in death. Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Sternborg-Reece Chapel with the Rev. William Noland officiating. Graveside rites and burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday morning until time of services Friday.
