Medora -George P. Loy, 71, formerly of Medora, died at 10 a.m. New Year's Day at the Jersey Care Center, where he resided. Surviving are a daughter, Fern Darr of Medora; two sisters, Zada Feldjes and Nellie Frank, both of Jerseyville; a brother, Frank Loy of Jerseyville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Warner-Targhetta Funeral Home in Medora, where services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Earl Clagg officiating. Burial will be in Kemper Cemetery.

Son of William Tillman & Anna Eliza Portwood Loy. Married Dorothy Irene Gross Oct. 4, 1930. George died of lung cancer.
