MOTHER OF THIRTEEN CHILDREN IS DEAD
Mrs. Esther Ingram, Wife of J. B. Ingram, Passed Away at Her Home Near Bismarck.

Mrs Esther M. (should be Hester A.) Ingram, wife of J. B. Ingram and a member of an old and respected family of this county, died yesterday afternoon Jan. 14, 1919, at her home, a short distance northwest of Bismarck, following a brief illness from pneumonia, with Spanish influenza as a contributory cause. Mrs. Ingram assisted in nursing the other members of her family all of whom were afflicted with influenza, and was herself stricken about a week ago. Pneumonia quickly developed and she passed away yesterday afternoon at 4:20 o'clock. Mrs. Ingram was born in this county Nov. 15, 1871, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Carter, early settlers of Vermilion County. Of the thirteen children born to her all survive together with the husband, the aged mother and two brothers. One daughter, a graduate nurse, and for the past several months employed in a Chicago hospital, arrived at her mother's bedside last Wednesday, a week ago today, and assisted in caring for her. Mrs. Ingram was one of the most estimable women of Newell township, and her death came as a shock to her wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Definite arrangements were not made for her funeral but relatives thought it would be held Thursday afternoon from the late home, with burial in the Davidson cemetery. (now called Gundy)
