KERMIT W. BEAL

Kermit W. Beal, age 86, of Loveland passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Loveland. He was born January 5, 1914 in Holstein, NE to Andrew Beal Jr. and Mary Pauline Hageman Beal.

Kermit's parents farmed in eastern Colorado near the Holyoke area. Kermit started work with the Great Western Sugar Company as a welder in 1936. He was master mechanic at the Johnstown MSG plant from 1957-1962, at which time he transferred to the Loveland sugar plant in the same position. He retired in 1873 after 37 years with Great Western. After his retirement, he served as a consultant for Minn-Dak Sugar Company for several years.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Warrant Officer in the South Pacific from April 1941 to September 1945. Kermit belonged to the Johnstown Rotary Club and the Loveland Elks Lodge #1051 B.P.O.E. and enjoyed golfing.

He was married to Priscilla L. Jenkins in Greeley on June 12, 1938, a union that lasted 53 years.

Kermit W. Beal was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Finke, Evelyn Rutt, Helen Condveay and Viola Chandler; and six brothers, Arthur, Elmer, Albert, LaVerne, Oscar and Lester.

He is survived by wife Priscilla Beal of Loveland; daughter Mary Patricia Bates; grandchildren Devin Patrick Bates of Alaska and Megan Ann Bates of Tempe, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12, at the Good Samaritan Chapel in Loveland with Rev. Hervey Macferran officiating. Inurnment has been conducted.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Loveland Museum, in memory of Kermit W. Beal.
