ANTON K GRAN, DEC 13, 1934:

A large crowd gathered at the West church of Our Savior's Congregation Monday afternoon to pay last respects to Anton K. Gran who died December 13, 1934, of heart failure while sitting in his car in Menno, as he was about to leave for home.

The music for the service was furnished by the mixed chorus from the Menno high school directed by Miss Hohf. Rev J. M. Runestad of Menno conducted the funeral service.

December 27, 1934

Note:
At the time of the funeral, the West Church and the East Church had united to form what is today known as Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the "Stone Church" located six miles south of Menno, SD. At that time, services were alternated between the Norway Congregation (West Church) and the James River Congregation (East Church). The decision to construct the existing "Stone Church" wasn't made until Oct, 1935.
