Jeanette Carrie Gran married Melvin I. Berg on Oct 26, 1926. To this union three children were born. Shortly after the birth of the third child, Jeanette died of blood poisoning at Age 27. Melvin never remarried.

In the years that pursued, the Berg children were raised by Alfred & Clara (Berg) Dybedahl, Melvin's Brother-in-law and Sister Clara.

Although the three siblings did not have an easy childhood, they remained very close throughout their lives and all had an excellent sense of humor.

Jeanette is included in the WPA list dated January 1941 for the Our Savior's West Cemetery located in Odessa Township, T96N R57W Section 4 about 9 miles from Lesterville and includes the following data:

Prior to Melvin's death in 1980, he relocated Jeanette to this cemetery which is Jeanette's final resting place with her husband.

Jeanette's original interment can be found at Memorial # 17659022 for Jeanette Carrie (Gran) Berg at Our Savior's West Cemetery in Yankton County, SD which does not include either an internment or headstone as of December 7, 2015.
