John Brenning was born the 21st of December 1844 at Kutter, Russia.
In the year 1844 he was married to Katharina Kilthau who preceded him in death in 1919. Their marriage was blessed with 14 children, nine of who preceded their parents in death.
In the year 1895 Mr. Brenning came to America and made his home at McCook, Nebr. and he resided there until his death. He suffered a stroke and spent the last few months of his life in bed. He prayed much during the months of his illness and longed to be taken to his heavenly home.
On the 18th of December in 1924 the Lord took him home at the age of 79 years.
He is survived by 4 sons, John, Jake, Henry and Conrad; a daughter, Mrs. George Bauer of Culbertson, Nebr.; 43 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. His age was three days less than 80 years.
