Brenning Family Tree

Henry Brenning, son of John Brenning and Katherine Kilthau, was born June 15, 1871 at Kutter, Russia. He was baptized there and later confirmed I the faith of his fathers.

In his 19th year he came to America, working for three years in the state of Minnesota. In 1893 he came to McCook, Nebr., where he lived the rest of his life with the exception of one year spent in Wyoming.

He married Christine Yost on the 19th of May, 1895 and she preceded him in death by six years.

Mr. Brenning was in ill health a number of years before his death. He passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 1949, slumbering out of time into eternity. His age was 78 years, 5 months and 20 days.

He is survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. Dollie Wagner, Culbertson, Nebr., Mrs. Hulda Harsch, Bartley, Nebr., Mrs. Mary Spahn of McCook, Nebr., Mrs. Katherine Lankford, Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Alice Brenning, Ojo, Ariz., Mrs. Esther Reske of Racine, Wis.; 3 sons, Joe and John Brenning of McCook, Nebr., and Rev. Abraham Brenning of Scottsbluff, Nebr.; 2 brothers, Conrad Brenning of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jacob Brenning of McCook, Nebr., 13 grandchildren and a large circle of friends and acquaintances. A great number of relatives and friends filled the Westside Congregational Church as he was laid to rest on the 9th of December 1949.
