Okie Hedrick, 81, formerly of Blue Grass, died Monday morning, June 21, 1982 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He had been a guest at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg. He was born March 18, 1901 in Blue Grass, son of Henry and Lydia Smith Hedrick. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Meda Barkley of Broadway, Mrs. Vergie Barkley and Mrs. Maggie Mick, both of Blue Grass, Mrs. Laura Vint, Circleville, W.Va., and Mrs. Loma M. Nelson of Cherry Grove, W.Va., and one brother, Jarrett Hedrick of Grottoes. A service was conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Eugenie Finn-McKenzie. Burial was in Blue Grass Cemetery.
