Tragedy on Dry Run
A fire of mysterious origin consumed the home of Ed Lamb & all of the family within, on Sunday night Nov 17th. The family which included five children were sleeping downstairs and there was no sign of struggle to get away. All were lying as if they had never been awakened, giving rise to the belief that they were all dead before the flames reached them. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Lamb’s father, Mr. Henry Hedrick, back of Hardscrabble Wednesday. Mrs. Virgie Barkley of this place is a sister of Mrs. Lamb.
Death records list her as Laura Jane Lamb.
