Lydia Hedrick passed away Monday morning February 27th after a lingering illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Waybright. Her husband, Henry Hedrick and a number of children survive,including Mrs. Virgie Barkley of this place. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday at Swank Chapel at the foot of Hardscrabble near her home.

Lydia Smith Hedrick was born Aug. 22, 1876, and passed away Feb. 27, 1950 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.G. Waybright. She had been in declining health for about one year. Bed-fast the last five months. Forty nine years ago she married Henry Hedrick. To this union were born ten children, two of which preceded her in death Pinkney Hedrick and Mrs. Edna Bennett. Surviving are Mrs W. G. Waybright, Mrs. John Barkley, Mrs. Alfred Barkley and Mrs. Robert Mick, all of Blue Grass. Oak Hedrick and Gannett Hedrick at home, Mrs. Henry Vint of Timber Ridge W.Va. and Mrs. Glen Nelson, also twenty-six grand children and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from Swank Chapel March 1st, with Rev Wm. Blain in charge, assisted by the Rev. Moore and Rev. Lambert. Burial followed in the family cemetery.
