According to my mother, Mary Jane Schlindwein Fliger, in 2008:
When Ma was pregnant with Margaret, she had rheumatic fever and was weak. She always had sewing or mending to do so she had my mother sit on the floor by the sewing machine to push the treadle to power the sewing machine.
When the doctor arrived at the house to deliver the new baby, the older children were sent down the hill to stay with someone else. They could come back to the house when the doctor's car was gone. When the doctor was gone, the children came back to the house and my mother was trying to ignore the baby and said, "Where's my dolly?" as she searched the house for her doll. Her grandfather, Anton Schneider (who lived with them), said, "Here's your dolly right here," pointing to the baby basket were baby Margaret was sleeping.

Grandson: Matthew James Doyle (1988-1991)
Granddaughter: Sarah Lindsay Doyle (1889-2012)
