Memories of my mother, MARY JANE SCHLINDWEIN FLIGER (age 86, Aug-28-2010), of her baby sister:

Marjorie was born about 1929 (when my mother was about five years old) and lived about two weeks. She passed away in her mother's arms. It is thought that perhaps she had a heart defect.

Marjorie was buried in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Calmar in the simplest of coffins and it is believed the grave was not marked. There is a possibility that one of my uncles had her gravesite marked but there is no documentation about that at this time.

My mother's childhood memory is that the grave was in a corner of the cemetery, however the shape of the cemetery may have changed in the subsquent decades since Marjorie's burial.

The memory of Marjorie was held deep in the family and at age 86 my mother still shed a tear remembering her baby sister.
