Obituary: "Edward J. Kane, 80, a resident of 527 SW 10th St., Faribault, passed away on Wednesday evening, Nov. 24 at the Rice County District Number One Hospital, following a brief illness. Funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, November 27, at 9 a.m., at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, with the Very Rev. Mark A. Ferrell, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Kohl Funeral Home from Friday afternoon until the hour of services. Mr. Kane is survived by his widow, Mary; two sons Sylvester of Faribault and Howard of Owatonna; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie McCarthy of Waseca and Mrs. Andrew Slattery of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and other relatives. The parish vigil prayers will be recited on Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Kohl Funeral Home with Faribault Council 889 of the Knights of Columbus in attendance."
