Obituary: "John Kane passed away at his home Saturday, April 29 at 11:45. He has been ill for the past two years. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, May 2 at 9 a.m. at the home and at 9:30 from the Sacred Heart church with Father Snyder officiating. Interment was made at the Calvary cemetery. John Kane was born January 11, 1865 in Brown county, Wisconsin to Bartholamew and Catherine Kane. He attended country school. He was married to Josephine Healy in Iosco, November 7, 1906. He came to Waseca county 61 years ago and has lived here ever since. His lifetime business was farming until he retired 25 years ago. He held the position of treasurer of Iosco township for two years. He was a member of the Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus. The knights of Columbus met at the home Monday evening and said the rosary. He is survived by his wife. Two brothers preceded him in death. They are Michael and Thomas. Surviving brothers and sisters are as follows: Mrs. David O'Keefe, Faribault; Mrs. Mary Dalton, Minneapolis; Mrs. Joseph McCarthy, Waseca; Mrs. A.J. Slattery and J.F. Kane, Minneapolis; Patrick, Portland, Oregon; Bartley, St. Paul and Edward, Faribault. An uncle, his mother's brother, Richard Holmes, of Janesville, also survives. Pallbearers were Frank Gallagher, John Harguth, D.M. Coughlin, Henry Kritzer, James Conway and Robert Degnan. Out of town people who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. James Kane, Mrs. Mary Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Slattery, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Kane, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Conlin, Mrs. William Carroll, St. Paul; Mrs. Arthur Miller, St. Peter; Howard and Sylvester Kane, Faribault; Richard Holmes of Janesville; Sister M. Lorraine, Austin McCarthy, Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. James Galligan, Mrs. Ed Carron and son, Faribault; Mrs. P. Clements, Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
